Apple Pie, season of comfort
Halloween is over and November is here. Hold on Christmas, Thanksgiving needs her time to shine too. Fall is here and I am all for embracing the fall. It’s comfort season, and nothing says fall to me quite like a homemade apple pie.
Lucky for us, our neighbors have a well established apple tree. Sis ate all the apples off our little four year old tree that only gave us a handful to try anyways. So, I took the wagon down the road with me for Sis and I too pick fresh apples.
A true benefit to country living and homestead life, is neighbors who also live the same way and share their abundance as well. With a wagon full of apples we headed back down the street home and ready for some comfort fall apple pie.
First off, I am all for the semi homemade and went for the store bought pie crust. If you have a go to pie crust recipe, use it. If you want to save time, head to the store for the pie crust like I do.
It’s all about the fall season of comfort for me, so when you are at the store picking up pie crust, grab a gallon of vanilla ice cream too! Pie just hits better with a side of ice cream.
Until Next Time,
Almond Girl Jenny
