Farmers who wear many hats
Lately, I have been thinking of hats.
And no I am not just talking about the hats on my shop.
All the different hats we wear in life. Farmers are the wearers of many hats.
Farmer, wife, mother, bookkeeper, advocate, saleswoman, entrepreneur, cook, taxi driver, daughter, board member, writer, laundry folder, blogger, executive director, florist, gardener, homesteader, oh my goodness I’m making myself dizzy!
I am sure we could all make a list a mile long with all our jobs, duties and responsibilities in life and work.
There is so much to our everyday lives that is beneath the surface. So much that is under this little square box of social media world that you don’t ever see.
The ins and outs of our daily lives that we may think as mundane and routine. These hats or duties all make us who we are.
They may not grant fancy busy cards or signatures below our emails, but they are all needed and necessary to our lives.
Some of our hats may not be worth a lot or truly satisfying, I know that whole laundry folder job really sucks, but each of our hats makes us who we are. We may not love that mountain of laundry, but I love those little kiddos that I’m doing that laundry for. And I’ll do that laundry every week, maybe kicking and screaming, but I’ll keep doing it to keep my kids clothes and clean.
These jobs may not always be satisfying or worthwhile, but the many hats we wear make us who we are.
What are some of the hats you wear?
Until Next Time,
